Recent events have made it clear: we must do more to elevate the visibility and importance of cancer surveillance. In today’s rapidly shifting public health landscape, the cancer registry community plays a pivotal role—not just in data collection, but in telling the story of why that data matters. Now more than ever, it’s critical that we raise our voices to highlight the value of cancer registries among the public, our partners, and elected officials.
This theme was echoed powerfully at the 2025 NAACCR Annual Conference in Hartford. From inspiring plenary speakers to candid, collaborative discussions at the Birds of a Feather roundtable, a clear message emerged: our work is essential, and so is the way we communicate its impact. Whether it’s helping to identify disparities in care, supporting cancer prevention strategies, or enabling life-saving research, cancer registries are at the heart of informed action against cancer.
To support our community in this shared effort, NAACCR has developed a new tool: the Promoting the Value of Cancer Registries document library. Housed within the NAACCR Share platform, this virtual library serves as a central hub for resources designed to help you raise awareness of the significance of cancer surveillance work. Whether you’re preparing a presentation, developing a flyer for community outreach, or building a case for funding support, this collection has you covered.
This growing repository features downloadable, ready-to-use materials contributed by fellow members—flyers, slide decks, talking points, infographics, and more—all aimed at helping us speak with a unified and compelling voice about the importance of our work. These resources are free to use and adapt, and we encourage all members to contribute their own materials to help expand and enrich the collection. The strength of our message grows when we collaborate and share what’s working.
To access the document library, you’ll need an active NAACCR membership and a MyNAACCR login. If you haven’t explored NAACCR Share yet, it’s easy to get started—check out our short tutorial videos at https://share.naaccr.org/home.
Together, we can make sure that cancer registries are not just doing the work—they’re seen, understood, and valued for the vital role they play in the fight against cancer.
Let’s lead the way. Let’s make every cancer count.
